To use the Shop Foreman and Shop Status functions, the dealer needs to be utilizing using the Softbase System setup for a Trailer Dealer, as the intention of this program is to track work going on in a service shop. This is more typical for trailer dealers than lift truck dealers, as they more often see work performed at a mobile site or at the customer's location.
The Shop Foreman section would be for the user that is making the decision on what status the WO is placed in.
The Shop Status section would be a display that other users at the dealership can use to see the status of Work Orders.
For Work orders to display in the programs, they would have to be created under a Department where the Reporting Group Field is "Service" and they must be an open Work Order where the user has not set them to Completed in the Shop Foreman Window.
When you use the Shop Foreman Window you can select a WO and then select a status for the work order based on the buttons on the left hand side. (Deliver, Pickup, Paint, etc...) That will color code that line and then display it in the Shop Foreman and Shop Status windows when saved for that work order.
If you have the Auto Refresh box checked in Shop Foreman when you click a button to change a status it will happen automatically, otherwise you will have to select a WO, select the new status and then click the "Change WO" button to make the change.
To view the status of a WO in Shop Status, you would simply check the status row and it will show you the status of the WO that was selected in Shop Foreman.
When the WO is complete and you don't want to show it on these Windows you would select the WO and select Complete in Shop Foreman.
