How do I post a finance charge in AR?

How do I post a finance charge in AR?

When keying in the AR deposit, you will simply want to add an additional line into the entry detail to account for the interest.

For example, let's walk through an invoice for 6.11 with interest of .89 for a payment total of 7.00.

We will select the invoice as usual and the amount of 6.11 within AR deposits, and then we will simply use the cash entry detail to add the .89 distribution to the account you have set up for the finance charges as a second line to equal the 7.00 payment.  Once the totals match, you should see the option to post.
